In this post, I’ll be sharing 15 Blogging Mistakes you should avoid that almost every new blogger do in the beginning.
I know many of you are excited to Start a blog in 2025 and want to earn from it…
Here are some of mistakes which I’ve also made— but now, you don’t have to repeat them.
1) Not Defining a Clear Niche
Niche selection is the common mistake which every blogger do and not really understand that..
What mostly blogger’s do..
They create blog and add multiple categories on it..
For example: ‘ABC’ started a blog.. And Select niche ‘TECH’
Tech is a good niche, but not ideal for individual bloggers who write content by themselves.
If you have a good or large team, then you can definitely start.
For Individual Blogger’s, I would recommend to select a small niche..
Select Micro-Niche Instead of a broad niche like “Fitness,” go specific:
For example: “Fitness for Busy Moms”, “Budget Travel for Students”, “AI Tools for Bloggers”, or “Freelancing Tips for Beginners.
- List Down Your Interests & Skills:
- Ask yourself:
- What skills or experiences do I have?
- What topics do I enjoy talking or reading about?
Example: Blogging, Personal Finance, Fitness, AI Tools, Freelancing, etc.

2) Choosing the Wrong Blogging Platform
If you don’t have a good budget, you can start blogging on Blogger.com.. Just setup custom domain on it… No hosting required.
However, I don’t recommend it.
Every blogger grows—some slowly, some quickly—so it’s better to start with a platform that supports long-term growth.
WordPress is the preferred platform for most top bloggers because it offers advanced features, responsive free themes, and a wide range of useful plugins.
Starting a blog on WordPress and it gives you a professional foundation, so you won’t have to go through the face migrating issues from Blogger to WordPress later.
3) Ignoring Keyword Research
Keyword research is the skills every blogger’s should Learn.. Without Keyword research.. It’s like you are Pro in WordPress Design but not knowing how to price your services.
Keyword Research is the word user search on google.. If you are good at finding Search intent keywords..
For example: If I’m writing a content on Blogging who want to do blogging..
What User will search: (I should think as a reader)
- How to start a blog for beginner free on WordPress
- How can i start blogging and earn money?
- How to start blogging and earn money in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, US, Canada, Australia, etc…
You should have to know the basics of Keyword research and How to add use keyphrase on content that’s it..
4) Writing for Yourself, Not the Reader
When you write content for your readers, make sure you write it in a simple, student-friendly way.
Your audience may include students and people from Asian countries who might not understand English..
Keep your writing simple so that everyone can easily understand what you’re trying to say..
Reader’s want answer, solution..
Give a clear answer and the exact solution the user is looking for..
5) Inconsistent Posting Schedule
Some new blogger made a mistake and after not getting response early they quite because of Inconsistent posting schedule..
Every new blogger wants quick results in blogging.
You write a post and immediately expect traffic…
But when no one sees your post, you feel discouraged and want to quit.
Instead, stay consistent — post at least 2–3 times per week. Some content will perform well, while others may not get much response.
Be patient. In the end, every consistent blogger sees results.
6) Ignoring On-Page SEO
New bloggers often don’t know the basics of SEO. As a result, they struggle and fail to stay consistent with blogging.
Keyword research is one of the most important aspects of on-page optimization, as discussed above.
On page SEO Includes keyword research, Website speed, Header tags, Alt tags optimization, Content structure and Schema structure..

7) Bad Blog Design & User Experience
A poor blog design can drive visitors away, no matter how good your content is.
Bad navigation, hard-to-read fonts, and slow page loading speeds create a frustrating user experience. Always focus on clean design, fast performance, and response design to keep your readers engaged.
8) Not Building an Email List
Not building an email list is a common blogging mistake made by almost every beginner or mid-level blogger. It limits long-term growth.
Only focus on search results means you losing your audience anytime algorithms update.
An email list gives you direct access to your readers and also it helps build a strong and loyal community.
9) Copying Content from Other Blogs
New bloggers often try to copy content from other blogs and believe they can rank at the top of search results.
But this isn’t the 90s anymore—blogging has changed, and not every blog ranks on google and other search engine easily today.
Don’t copy content from ChatGPT. Just use it for help with content writing, heading suggestions, etc..
Try to create long-form articles, as they rank higher in search results compared to short content.
10) Focusing Only on AdSense
Focusing only on AdSense limit your blog’s earning potential.
Relying on a single income source is risky..
Join affiliate marketing programs..
Accept sponsored posts, or sell digital products to your monetization strategy..

11) Not Promoting Blog Posts
Failing to promote blog posts is a common mistake many bloggers make…
Without promotion, even the best blog posts may go unnoticed.
Don’t just rely on Google traffic SEO…
Share your BLOG post across social media, gain email lists, and share on relevant communities to drive traffic..
Remember, creating content is just half the job — promotion is the other half.
12) Skipping Internal Linking
Internal Linking is the important factor in On Page Optimization..
Internal linking helps improve a website’s ranking, user experience & easier to navigate…
Don’t Skip Internal Linking..
Internal linking is a practice of including hyperlinks on a webpage that redirect users to other pages within the same website..
With no internal links, your old posts may stay hidden and get less traffic.
Add relevant articles to boost SEO..
13) Not Using Analytics & Search Console
Google Analytics and Search Console help you analyze web traffic and identify areas for improvement to boost your website’s performance..
Google Analytics is used to track user behavior, traffic sources, and engagement on your website.
Google Search Console helps you monitor your site’s performance in Google Search, fix indexing issues, and optimize for better rankings.
Many new bloggers struggle to track their website traffic and analyze the data needed to make improvements..
You should use and implement both to effectively track and improve your website traffic…
14) Giving Up Too Early
New bloggers give up too early, expecting fast results.
Well Blogging takes time, consistency, and patience to show real growth…
It usually takes at least 3 to 4 months to start seeing organic traffic results.
Focus on social traffic in the beginning. It’s easier to gain quick visibility through platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Pinterest.
Keep optimizing your content and building quality backlinks during this period…
15) Not Learning Continuously
Not learning in blogging is one of the biggest mistakes. Trends, algorithms, and audience behavior keep changing—so you should keep upgrading your skills regularly..
If you stop learning new skills or getting knowledge, your growth will stop. New bloggers often fall behind in traffic, SEO, and monetization..
Final Thoughts
Bloggers should stay focused on their content, and avoid above common mistakes — especially poor SEO, choosing the wrong platform, and not continuing to learn new skills.
Results don’t come overnight, consistency required and action pays off over time.
By taking every small steps and staying committed and motivated, growth will surely come.
